Prof. Dr. Hamid Reza Karimi

Biography: Hamid Reza Karimi is currently Professor of Applied Mechanics with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. Karimi’s original research and development achievements span a broad spectrum within the topic of automation/control systems, and intelligence systems with applications to complex systems such as wind turbines, vehicles, robotics and mechatronics. Karimi is an ordinary Member of Academia Europa (MAE), Distinguished Fellow of the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), Fellow of The International Society for Condition Monitoring (ISCM), Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), Member of Agder Academy of Science and Letters and also a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Mechatronic Systems, the IFAC Technical Committee on Robust Control, and the IFAC Technical Committee on Automotive Control. Karimi is the recipient of the 2021 BINDT CM Innovation Award, the 2016-2021 Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering, the 2020 IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Guillemin-Cauer Best Paper Award, August-Wilhelm-Scheer Visiting Professorship Award, JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Research Award, and Alexander-von-Humboldt-Stiftung research Award, for instance. Karimi is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cyber-Physical Systems, Subject Editor, Technical Editor or Associate Editor for some international journals and Book Series Editor for Springer, CRC Press and Elsevier. He has served as Guest Editors for more than 30 Special Issues in ISI journals. Prof. Karimi has also participated as General Chair, keynote/plenary speaker, distinguished speaker or program chair for several international conferences in the areas of Control Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics.

Dr. Mohamed Khan Afthab Ahamed Khan

Biography: M. K. A. Ahamed Khan received his BE degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and MS degree in Electronics and Control engineering from India., He received his advanced diploma in Power electronics and drives from Lucas – Nuelle, Germany in 2002 and Diploma in Drives and Controls from Woo sun, Korea in 2014. He obtained his PhD in Robotics, Power electronics and controls from USA and holds his Professional Engineer [PEng] Certification from USA and CEng (UK).He is also a Senior member in IEEE USA and MIET UK. He worked with Rohde and Schwarz, Germany as Sales and service engineer from 1983-1987 and served as a Senior lecturer in the faculty of engineering at the Madras university for seven years and has been with the Faculty of Electronics Engineering, TAFE Australia, Malaysia campus during the year 1994 to 1997.He served as a Program coordinator for Malaysia France – University Nice, France between 1997 to 2006.He has been a consultant and trainer for multinational companies like Schneider electric, France., Vivendi Water supplies, France., and many Malaysian and Singapore companies. Also, he worked as an Assistant professor at UNISEL, Malaysia from 2006 to 2017. Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the faculty of engineering at UCSI University, Malaysia. He held various positions in IEEE RAS Malaysia chapter and had won more than 15 awards awarded by IEEE Malaysia section. He is the past Chairman for IEEERAS, Malaysia chapter and current IEEE UCSI Student branch counselor. His current research is in Power Electronics, Motor drives, Robotic and Controls. Along with many awards and more than 100 papers or research notes published in journals and conference proceedings, M.K.A. Ahamed Khan has travelled more than 25 countries and has visited the top universities like MIT, Stanford, OXFORD, Caltech, Cambridge, Berkley, Imperial and served as a Reviewer and Session Chairman for several conferences and project competitions. His main hobby is playing tennis, table tennis, cricket, travelling and reading books.

Dr. Mastaneh Mokayef

Biography: Dr. Mastaneh Mokayef is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of wireless communication systems. She received her PhD from the Wireless Communication Centre in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at University Technology Malaysia (UTM), where she specialized in the design and optimization of wireless communication systems. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Mastaneh Mokayef obtained her master's degree in engineering from UTM. Her expertise in the field of wireless communication systems has led to her becoming a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) in 2017. Since 2015, Dr. Mokayef has been a member of the faculty of Engineering at UCSI University, Malaysia. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FETBE), where she has made significant contributions to research and teaching. Dr. Mokayef's research interests include various aspects of wireless communication systems, such as spectrum sharing methods, spectrum management, cellular communication systems, and antenna design. Her publications in top-tier academic journals and conferences have earned her recognition as an emerging leader in the field. Beyond her academic work, Dr. Mokayef is also committed to serving her community through various initiatives. She has been involved in several outreach programs designed to promote science and technology education among underrepresented groups. Overall, Dr. Mastaneh is an accomplished researcher and educator who has dedicated her career to advancing the field of wireless communication systems. Her contributions have made a significant impact on the academic community and an awardee as a Global Distinguished Young researcher from IEEE IAS USA in 2023, and she continues to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists in the field.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Chadli

Biography: Mohammed Chadli (Senior Member’99, IEEE) received the MScEng (DEA) from the Engineering School INSA-Lyon (1999),the PhD thesis in Automatic Control from the University of Lorraine (UL), CRAN-NancyFrance in 2002 and his habilitation in 2011 at the University of Picardie JulesVerne (UPJV) Amiens, France. He was Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the UL“Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine” (2000-2004). Since 2004, he wasAssociate Professor at the UPJV and currently Full Professor at the University Paris-Saclay,Univ Evry, IBISC Lab., France. He was a visiting professorship at the TUO-Ostrava(Czech Rep.), UiA (Norway), SMU-Shanghai (2014-2017), NUAA-Nanjing (2018, 2019) and the University ofNaples Federico II (Italy).

Dr Chadli’s research interests include fuzzy/LPV and switched systems, singularsystems, robust control, fault detection and isolation (FDI), fault tolerantcontrol (FTC) via LMI, SOS and Lyapunov methods. On the application side he ismainly interested in automotive control and renewable energy. He is co-authorof books and book chapters (Wiley, Springer, Hermes), and numerous articlespublished in international journals and conferences.

Dr. Chadli is asenior member of IEEE, an Editor/Associate Editor/Editorial Board Member ofseveral international journals, including the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems,Automatica, the IET Control Theory and Applications, the Franklin Institute Journal, Asian Journal of Control. He is also Moderator for IEEE TechRxiv and wasa Guest Editor for Special Issues in international journals.
